Inter-ethnic Integration in Education (IIE) Project> Building a Common Future 2019

Building a Common Future is a project of the Municipality of Gazi Baba, which was successfully realised throughout the last school year and was promoted on the official Municipal Day.

This year, supported by the OSCE once again, under the auspices of the Municipality, we initiated the first coordination meeting at which the coordinators from all 11 primary schools of the Municipality took part. MPS "Cyril and Methodius" - Stajkovci was the host of the event.

The Municipality is one of the most active in the Inter-ethnic Integration in Education Project in terms of realization of independent and joint IIE activities, but also in terms of utilization of grants and resources offered by the MoES, OSCE, USAID and other education partners and friends.

The continuation of the affirmation of multiculturalism in our municipality is only evidence that, no matter which ethnic community we belong to, we can do everything and anything together. The purpose of this project is to strengthen the capacity of pupils involved in inter-ethnic relations and to deal with topics in the fields of: multiculturalism, prejudice, stereotypes, communication skills and language barriers, non-violent conflict resolution, identity and so on.

When collaborating and implementing the activities, pupils will be involved in activities for better understanding and building group cohesion where they adopt the rules of work, ensuring equal status amongst all of them. Pupils will be encouraged to collaborate and interact in gender- and ethnically-balanced groups, in which an important factor is the positive interdependence of groups, with equal opportunities for success in group and individual responsibility.
